The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB ) is the state board of education functional in the state of Gujarat. The functions of the Board can be categorised in three areas namely.

It has 16 Ex-officio members, 44 other members taken from other educational organizations, legislative bodies and civil society.

Gujarat Board provides guidance about the policies governing secondary and higher secondary education its development and qualitative enhancement. The GSEB conducts SSC examination every year as its primary examination in the month of March for which more than 9 lakh students appear in various examination centres across the country.
